Unbeaten Paths features reviews of adventurous fiction, mostly from small and independent presses. Occasionally I will post longer reviews of especially notable new works, as well as critical essays considering an important writer of experimental fiction or an individual work. It is a companion to Inside the Text, my substack publication focusing on the practice of literary criticism. Together, they are the successors to my literary weblog, The Reading Experience, the life of which was abruptly cut short by the demise of its hosting service (although its remnants can be found here.)
